Community Kids Club is a vision given to AGL Missions that will allow us to reach children in under-rescored areas throughout the Appalachian region, enabling us to share the love of Christ with these families.
The staff at AGL Missions has created a program that is fun and exciting. A meal will be served each time we meet and other immediate needs will be addressed as they are brought to us. Curriculum created by “Orbies for Orphans” is often used for teaching. Please join us in prayer for this wonderful adventure God is leading us upon, and that we teach these children to know Jesus as we help them understand the love, he has for them. We are excited about the New Mission Outpost located on Old Rosman Hwy in Rosman North Carolina. We started in a local park in Transylvania County in 2020. Soon we moved to a trailer park where we ministered for two years until we outgrew that space. Now we meet in an unused parsonage beside Zion Baptist Church on Main Street Rosman. We meet every Friday afternoon after school for our Community Kid’s Club. This is the model that will be used as we expand in the future to other areas further north in the Appalachian region. God has opened a doors for this ministry in unbelievable ways already and we are excited to see how He brings His message to these children AND their families going forward. Getting the kids is the easy part. Getting fellow Christian believers in the community proves to be the toughest obstacle so far. Please pray God sends us local volunteers to help the staff as we increase our outreach.

We plan to continue to help the folks effected by the floods of 2021 in Eastern Kentucky. Last year AGLM was privileged to be a key supplier of recovery materials that was needed immediately. The first funds were sent the next day before the water even went down. The first of three truck and trailer loads of fans, dehumidifiers, mud boots, mops etc. were sent by AGLM the next week. All of these funds and supplies were sent through AGLM exclusively for the KY. flood response. We used a support ministry in Breathitt County KY. called The Happy Church to handle most of the distribution. They do an amazing job in their community in the city of Jackson Ky. One of the most effected areas that had multiple lives lost and countless displaced families. Please continue to pray for this area as they put their lives back together. This will take years not months.
Hopefully this year we will start our second Community Kids Club location. We are continually praying on direction in this field. As God opens other doors, may we have the energy and resources to follow His direction. Then again, He hasn't failed yet! (Super exciting, and a little scary:) Other areas and events are continuing to come into focus for the AGL Missions team. We will try to keep posting them here as the dates and locations become clear. As God leads- If you were a child raised up in a family or setting where Christ was never spoken of except in a derogatory manner. Or where you just never went to a church setting because of logistical or financial reasons. Where and when would you get a chance to hear how much you are loved by your Creator?
Maybe you were left at home by yourself early in life to “fend for yourself” for food and relationships. You knew other kids had a very different life, but it just seemed unattainable to you. So you just go with the flow and mix in with the ones that will except you for whatever reason. Even if it’s because of their evil motives you don’t recognize. So, how do you hear about the life Christ offers to all who call on Him? Romans 10:14 says: “But how will they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? How can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? (NLT) That’s the reason the Community Kids Club program was started by AGL Missions. (AS God Leads Missions). We have been given the vision of reaching kids in under-resourced pockets of the communities with the life changing message of Christ. That’s what CKC does. AGL missionaries pick a time that is convenient for the location and people they want to reach, (usually not a Sunday morning), and for 1-2 hours we feed, do crafts, play games AND share the message of Christ in fun, interesting, creative and age-appropriate ways. AGL Missions organization fully funds the operations and helps set it up. We just need local Christ followers that have a heart for the less fortunate children in their communities and a willingness to come serve, share and show the love which Christ has for these kids and the message that will transform their lives. That’s what your willingness to serve with Him will do. “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings…” Isaiah 52:7 (KJV) |
